Michael is a former England international with over 350 professional appearances across all formats. A stylish left-handed opener, he represented England in Tests, ODIs, and T20s, and enjoyed a distinguished county career with Hampshire, Surrey, and Kent. Known for his technical expertise and calm presence at the crease, Michael now brings his wealth of experience to coaching, helping players of all levels develop their batting skills and match awareness.
Brighton Mugochi
Brighton Mugochi – Lead Coach & Spin Bowling Specialist
Brighton is a former professional cricketer from Zimbabwe who played at first-class level for over a decade before moving into coaching. He is an ECB Level 3 Advanced Coach with a specialist focus on spin bowling, and has extensive experience working across player pathways and performance environments. . With his blend of professional playing experience and advanced coaching knowledge, Brighton is passionate about developing cricketers both technically and mentally to reach their full potential.
Toby Green
Level 2 Qualified ECB Coach
Toby has been playing cricket ever since he can remember playing for Totton and Eling colts, Hampshire county, and now playing for the 1st XI at Totton and Eling that plays in the Southern Premier League top division. As an ECB level 2 coach Toby is one of the lead coaches at S&B Academy and leads the under 11s at Totton and Eling bringing young cricketers into the game with hardball.
Izzy Apperley
Level 2 Qualified ECB Coach
Izzy has been around the game of cricket since she was 8 years old, watching her dad play and now a huge passion for the sport. She started out playing cricket with her dad at Herriard Cricket Club and she now plays in the mens and ladies teams at Basingstoke and North Hants Cricket Club. She is a qualified Level 2 ECB Core Coach and is now in charge of the Under 13 Girls at Basingstoke. She also has recently started coaching with the S and B Academy and is passionate about learning new things within coaching and helping bring more young players into the game of cricket.
Joe Baker
Level 2 Qualified ECB Coach
Joe has had 3 years coaching experience as ECB level 2 qualified coach and one of the head coaches of Locks Heath CC colts section at all age groups, boys and girls as well as coaching the adult section. Joe is an opening batsman and Off Spin Bowler for the Locks Heath CC 1st XI and played through the Hampshire Pathway system as a youngster. Joe currently studies Sports Coaching and Development at Solent University and plays in the Mens 1st XI that has recently been promoted to play in the BUCS Premier League.
